A few answers to keep your practice moving.
Getting started
Where should I begin?
Open Today and start the suggested session. Optional setup lets you choose your experience and a playing budget. You can change those choices in Settings → Practice setup.
What do Clean and Messy mean?
They are your assessment of a rep. Choose Clean when the timing and notes felt controlled, or Messy when you want to work on it. The app does not listen to or automatically score your playing.
When do I move to the next stage?
Complete two full runs of each exercise in your current stage with every rep rated Clean at its reference BPM or above. Your next stage begins on the following practice day, so a session never changes underneath you.
Why is a session longer than my playing budget?
The budget counts playing time. Count-ins, position changes, and time spent reviewing a rep add to the total time.
Metronome & sound
How do I change the metronome?
Open an exercise and tap its metronome icon. Set your tempo and count-in before playing. Click volume and subdivision controls are in the same panel. Tempo stays fixed during a rep; stop the exercise before changing it.
I cannot hear the click.
Check the click volume in the exercise and your device’s output volume. Make sure audio is going to the speaker or headphones you expect, then stop and restart the exercise. If the click feels late through Bluetooth, try the device speaker or wired headphones.
Accounts & progress
Can I practice without an account?
Yes. Guest history and preferences stay on the device. If you later sign in, you choose whether to add that guest practice to your account.
How do I switch devices?
Use the same email account in Settings → Account & sync on both devices. Allow syncing to finish before switching. Offline practice is saved locally and syncs when you reconnect while signed in.
My sign-in code did not arrive.
Confirm the email address and check spam or junk folders. During the first beta, email access may be limited to invited testers. Report a delivery problem using your TestFlight invitation’s feedback contact; never include a sign-in code.
How do I delete my account?
In Settings → Account & sync, choose Delete account and confirm. This permanently deletes the cloud account and its practice data and clears the account cache on that device. Separate guest practice remains. Other offline devices may keep local copies until their app data is removed.
Beta feedback
Need help? Email hello@downpick.io.
Open TestFlight, select Downpick Test, and tap Send Beta Feedback. You can also take a screenshot while using the beta and share it through TestFlight.
Include your device, iOS version, exercise, and what you expected to happen. A tempo and a short description of the steps are especially useful for metronome issues. Leave passwords and sign-in codes out of your report.
